Today (well, is late night now), I'm inspired by Matrioskas or Matrioshkas (I see both ways often and really don't know wich one is correct). It's a beautiful russian tradition that made so many people fall in love, including myself.

Most of photographylovers who lived the 80’s have a especial crush for the Polaroid One Step. After“The Impossible Project”, the flame became a fire! They really adorable!

I love thisAdobe software. You can work with the light, brightness and contrast in a artisticand different way from Photoshop or Fireworks. Lightroom is great to organizeyour albums as well! More about it here.

Flickr is thebigger photos repository of the web. Is easy to use, for free, and full ofpretty pictures!

8- Family Albums

I adorefamily albums. Is a tradition I think everybody should adopt, even if yourfamily is you and your puppy! I take so many pictures of my lovely ones, butnever print it. Is one of my new years eve projects! If you think you lose theperfect moments because you’re without your camera, you can do like Elsie, fromA Beautiful Mess. She did this album using cell phone pictures (hello instagramaddicteds)!

My little sister prom

The weekend was rainy, despite is summer here in Brazil. We were a little upset about the weather but it was not capable of prevent us to have a good time. One of my little sisters graduated from high school and is going to Law School now. The party was so beautfiful.

The only sad thing about it, was I forgot to take pictures of parents with my own camara. There were so many camaras there,I think I made some mistake about.

I wish all the luck in the world to my little sis Dani and a lovely week to all of us!

I missedthis blog a lot! My dad was on the hospital for a week and, when he gotreleased my grandmother got injured and had to be hospitalized. She’s there forthree days now. I’m trying to be supportive and help them as much as I can. Mylovely husband has been a great helper too, what is so considering of him!

I love toride motorcycles. In fact, I had a little scooter for 6 years, then my dad andhubby decided it was too dangerous and I should get a car immediately. In thesame week I had an accident and decided I should really try another way to transit.

After I gotthe car, I realized I’d never adapt to it. It’s huge and I can’t park it,unless the street is totally clean.

My dad is sick and I spent all the weekend with him looking for a good doctor who could do the correct diagnosis of what he has. Right now, he is doing further tests in the company of my mother and I'm here hoping for a good result.

After all of this, I couldn't avoid to remember you to feel happy for the little thigns in life, to enjoy your day and this new week, to call for the ones you care. Most of times it seems something slushy to say, but today I really mean it.

Someday occurredto me we were spending a lot, not following the budget plan, and I couldn’t seethe reason. I talked to my husband and we checked our credit card bills, our accountsand other normal bills, then we found out we were spending like 40% of ourmoney with food!

I don’thave much time to cook, so we used to go out a lot to eat and we always went toour favorite restaurants as a common routine. I was shocked when I did themath. We could buy a new car if we just stop going out to have lunch and dinnereveryday and start to prepare our food. At the same time, I realized we couldeat healthier if we changed our behavior.

So, if youthink you never have money enough to take the next step (like moving to abigger place or opening your own business), look closely to yours expenses andmaybe you’ll find that you spend a lot with something you can easily substituteor cut it.

Weekend!! I'm so happy I'll have a quality time to spend with my hubby and wake up by my own! Here goes the things I'm thinking a lot these days.

1- A sunnyday

It has beenraining here in my town for like 5 days. Today, I woke up with a beautifulsunny day and it’s chilling a little bit. Now I ask you, could the weekendstart better? I want to do some activities outside!

We’regetting closer to summer time (in Brazil), so people start to getcrazy with their diets and exercises routine, because they want a perfect bodythe beach season starts. Then eat food becomes suddenly wrong. How can it be?! Youcan not eat what makes happy?! I hate this feeling. We need to accept ourselvesand be happy, because nobody has the perfect body, after all!

3- Yourhealth

At the sametime, I think all of us must embrace a good health care behavior. Eat whatmakes us happy doesn’t mean to exaggerate. Not get crazy about exercises, doesn’tmean not care about doing it. I love tattoos of all styles and in all parts of the body. When performed by a good artist, I think it is hard not to like them. But a part of the body they're especially beautiful is the back. It's a huge space to use all the creativity and you can tell a whole story.

I have my back tattoos for quite some time (check out the first picture), but I'm thinking about doing a big drawing, something complete. Here are some images to inspire!

Have you ever tried a different diet just to know how you feel? I decided to stay 60 days without any kind of meat. I was educated to eat so much meat, you wouldn't believe it. The good food is a tradition in my family. The meals are almost a ritual of intimacy and pleasure.

These first days I feel a lack of creativity of what I can eat. It has been generally cheese, eggs and soy meat. I observed I increased significantly my consumption of sugar, what is not good, because I want to feel healthier changing my diet.

I'm searching for new veggie recipes, so, if you know some or a good website where I can find it, let me know!

Steve Jobs, my personal tribute

I found out that Steve Jobs passed away yesterday, during my photography class, by an Iphone. It made me feel sad. Not because I'm crazy about Apple products and inovations. I do have an Ipod and an Ipad, but i'ts not about the things he created. It's about his ideas and concepts. It's about his courage and all he had conquered just because he never gave up. And it's because I admire him this much, I decided to do this very tiny tribute.

Well, if you never saw the video of his speach to the students of Standford University, please watch it. It may touch your life more then all the technoly he developed. (P.S.: The subtitles are in portuguese because is the brazilian version:)

I’m goingto take few days of rest and I’m so exited about I have no words to express!

I’ve beenworking like crazy and feeling without energy to live my life after work. Imiss classes all week, sleep any time is possible and I’m very moody lately.

So, aftertwo years of non-stopping work, I’m going to take six days to relax and dothings I like the most. I’ll travel, meet some friends I don’t commonly see, eatgood food and go to Metallica’s concert on Rock in Rio.

All about this Monday

Mondays use to be a strange day for me. I miss be at home with my puppiesand my colorful studio. But this little Monday it’s away from different.

The weekend was really, really good and I wish I had take some pictures. Ihad lots of fun and rest so much! It was great!

Here, at work, things are getting clear. We took a decision that maychance our business and it was so complicated to do it, but we kind of felt weshould take the chance.

And, finally, two years from now was getting ready to take a big step atmy personal life. Although it was the most important thing I was going to do atthe time, I was not nervous at all. I knew for sure I did the best decisionever. I chose to spend my life with a wonderful, careful, selfishness guy who Ilove from all my heart.

So, I begin my week full of hope, joy, and good feelings. I wish you thesame! To have the courage and the audacity to take a risk. "To get somethingyou never had, you have to do something they never did," right?

MBA and other courses... Are they important at all?

These last days I was totally com committed with some project I had to develop for my MBA course. It was very hard to do, so I had to quit my time on internet and didn’t go out until I finished it. This may lead to the question: does it worth it?

Well, I guess so. When you chose a good specialization course, that has a strong connection with your current work or carrier and you’re sure the course will be more then a new line on your resume, you should do it.

I think, nowadays, the companies are much more interested on what you can give to them as a professional over what you put on your resume. We need to be creative, open minded and read for all kinds of challenges this crazy economic scenario brings to us.

But, if you really have the desire of being part of a strategic department of the company you work for, be prepared to do some MBA courses, language courses, seminars and lectures…

Yes… We need to really work hard to get what we dream about!

This week was crazy! I lost three co-workers. One had to go back home, one got very, very sick and the last one had to travel. I have no time to do anything I wanted, what makes me feel a little frustrated. About the weekend, I have no big plans either, but, maybe, I can take some pictures and enjoy the father’s day with my family (lets hope!).

This weekend was great! I had no time to rest but I loved the way things turned out. We went out almost all the hours of the weekend, had some drinks, laugh a lot and got ready for the new week.

My husband and I are very lucky to have lots of good friends and it’s so good when we are able to see then! This is my last week without classes, so have to do the best of it. I’m still in the organization process, but I’m pretty sure it will make my life easier and I’ll have more time to get my personal projects done.

Here in the office, things continue to be crazy. Lots of pressure and I’m looking for a new supervisor, because mine is going to go back home and quitted her job. But, I’m sure things will be all right after.

I realized these last days that, when we don’t find the thing we need at the time we need, we become very moody. This was a huge incentive for me to put my things in order (at home and in the office).

It certainly is not the easiest task of the world, but it worth it. Here goes some tips of all I learned recently.

1- Create lists, write it down.

It’s almost unfair to try to count only with your memory to remember all you need to do, establish priorities and make a plan of how to get there. Writing things down it’s a great habit because when you register an idea or a “to do list”, it becomes sort of a compromise (and it feels awesome to cross the items off).

2- Create a routine for your tasks

When you need to get lots of things done, sometimes it’s difficult to decide what to do first. So we need to set priorities and make a routine. For example, every Mondays I organize my bedroom, no matter how tired I am. If I don’t do it this Monday, only in the next one I’ll have time to put things in order, so I better not let the messy accumulate.

3- Do things alike at the same time

Do all your calls at the same time, pay all your bills or shop all you need at the same trip. It will save your time, energy, money and you’ll be more concentrated on what you’re doing.

4- Fix the things that are not working properly, and do it now!

Because when you need it, it will be just fine. And if you use it every day, it’s may be irritating you, doesn’t it?

5- Determine a place for everything

I use to put my keys, purse and cell phone anywhere. Every time a needed to go out, I had to look all over the house to find my things. One day, I just determined it would stay in a unique furniture of the TV room. I never lost it again! So, choose an easy place, which you feel comfortable with and doesn’t make you feel as you’re just abandoning things over, then keep your things there.

I also determined places for all the types of cloths, shoes, dishes... I put names on the boxes of my crafty room and made a home for everything, so I don’t waste time looking for essential stuff.

6- Know where your documents are

And keep copies of it.

7- Set aside time to get organized

You’ll need time for it. Try half an hour per day or create a scheme like 30 min to do the dishes, 20 min to answer the emails, 30 min to pay the bills.

8- Clean up your closet

Take off the cloths you don’t use. My standard is if I didn’t use a cloth or shoe in the last year to now, I won’t use it anymore, so I donate it for the ones that will be glad to have it.

9- Don’t be nostalgic

Try to not hold on your memories. There are things we love to keep, but they’re trash. I know we’d like to keep all the drawings of our children or all kinds of paper memories of a good trip, but if we want to get over with the clutter on our houses, we have to let it go.

10- Try some organization tools

Like boxes (and put name on them), plastic bags to the fridge food, planners to organize your day, notebooks inside the purse. Try to use a smartphone and keep a Google Scheduler or another tool you can keep fresh in all your gadgets.

So, these are some of my macro photos. I did them using my Canon XTI reflex camara and a 60 mm lens. It made me so happy to se how it looks like, because I’m still a student and I’m trying to improve the techniques I learned over the course.

I love my work, but as most people know, working in big companies can be quit stressful. That’s why I believe it’s so important to keep hobbies and personal projects that warm your heart and fresh up your mind.

I’m trying photography with some purpose that matches some professional dreams I have. Let’s see how it goes.

Going crafty

This week has been a busy one! We’re working on big negotiations and we’re all full of expectations and tired of waiting. Our customers guaranteed we will succeed and obtain the contracts, but we’re still in the middle of the process, so it’s all about anxiety over the office. After all, I’m working in hard conditions of cash flow, so I so much effort to get it all done!

After all of this, when I got home I decided to try something different. I always wanted to learn how to knit. So time ago, I posted a link with some tutorials. I watched it, looked for another ones on the internet and, tha-da! I did this horrible stitches! But I must confess I’m proud!

Now, all I need to do is relax and prepare for the weekend!

I realize that is a dismissal one of the most complex task for those who hold a position of leadership. The feeling of depriving someone of their livelihood it’s always very uncomfortable, especially when it comes to someone with whom we live more closely, this nuisance can become a big deal. So I’d like to give you some tips that might help you in these hours.

- Think before taking action. It’s important you know exactly the reason why you are taking this decision. In most cases, the employee causes his own dismissal, either for lack of interest and commitment or simply because he doesn’t fit the profile of the team. Try to discern the reasons to make you to feel secure about your decision. Make yourself the resignation, if the you’re the employee's direct superior. Do not delegate to HR.

- Prepare what you’ll say. Think about what you mean before you say it, and look for a quiet place without interruption or spectators to deliver the notice, a meeting room, for example. After a week of hard work, very long meetings and a huge list of things to do next week, the weekend was the break I needed. I think that anyone who has a work rate intense, need to make proper clearances. Avoid to bring work to home, or thinking about it!

I confess that was not easy to put this idea in my head, but anyway, I'm getting used to.

I've been working so much. The result of hard working is a promotion, what means more work and experience that led me to a reflection. I thought about what I really want in my life, what really matters.

I noticed that many times, we live a life without being sure of who we are. Not in that order to "uncover yourselfe", philosophically speaking (or in a corny way either). We take life without noticing what makes us happy, what gives us comfort, the bad habits which must be abandoned, who are the best companies.

The workflow of events lead us to somewhere, far away from the ideal. And so, as by epiphany, I realized some serious things in my life that probably serve to yours.

The first is that, inevitably, we are what we live. The truth is we are not able to be totally authentic and different from people with whom we live. I'm sure you've heard about selecting your companies, choose people more cheerful, interesting, attractive to be around. Well, if like me you thought it was crap, you may reconsider.

At the same time, and I know how much that is contradictory, I realized that who we are, we always will be, deep inside. No matter how much you dislike certain characteristics, it won’t change it (not all of them). I am a business woman. As much as I have repeated a thousand times I'm tired, I want to get away from the business world and play with art and fashion, the reality is that the pressure and adrenaline of the corporate world are my life.

After doing all these thoughts a asked myself what's the point of trying to maintain a blog that does not reflect, really, what I really live? Why should I try to keep a sort of magazine that I can not even get inspired enough to post? Or even try to copy other blogs that I admire? One of my favorite bands, Dream Theater, sings "what we have is what we are", it’s better be sincere.

So, if you like the fashion and design posts or the beauty products, they will not disappear. But if you've always been curious to know what is like be a young woman, director of a group of companies predominantly male, and a housewife after all, I think now we are together.

Hubby and I had a great time yesterday watching “The Hangover – Part II”. It’s so hilarious! We laugh a lot and have our expectations fulfilled. It is as good as the first one. But one observation we made was that some people carried their kids and is absolutely not a proper movie for kiddos!

We kind of get revolted with that. So, girls, please, leave your little ones at home if you decide to catch this movie, ok?

For too long I want to talk to you guys about money. I’m specialized in financial management for the middle market companies, but I would like to try making some guesses about personal finances and talk about it with you. The truth is that when money is ours, the story is very different from the cash management of in a company, however, some lapses occur somewhat common on the both sides and that's what we’ll think about and try to avoid, ok?

The truth is that I see that so many companies generate investment debts that, when the
director take the decision to commit to them, they seem to be very important and extremely necessary to create returns in the future. At home, how we see this situation? We make the investment into an expensive skin foundation that apparently can not be replaced by any other on Earth, because the tone of our skin.

The result is that, many times the investment business is not rewarded with the profit people were waiting for. And often the spent with the perfect beauty products or even with that thing that looks like it would turn in the best hobby and has not turned,
can only be a non health spending and can make all the difference up front, when you’ll do an acquisition well planned and really needed. The danger is that the opportunity to do that extension course, a family trip or even attend a emergency, the lack of capital could make you get crushed.

Through my travels, I've noticed that many of these compulsive spending is a reflection of some frustration. Do you know that compulsive overeating that at times we do
when you are anxious? Well, with money can occur the same thing. See if you know this story ... It’s a hard day's work, you had an argue with your boss, the boyfriend didn’t appear at the end of the workday to give you a providential ride, what do you do? Go shop! Just to see the stores, have some frozen yogurt ( to not get weight, right?) and ends up going home with one (or many) bags.

To avoid the problem, there are some basic tips, I’d like to share with you to help your financial life and, yes, may even create some money left for new shoes. Prepared? So let’s go.

Budget is the magic word. Have one in Excel or on the classic notebook, but just get it done. You need to have at the top of your mind how much are your fixed expenses (rent, light, phone, home purchases), your projection of spending on credit card, how much costs to you to maintain a car, etc. That done, go to the second step.
Savings. It is guarantee of sleeping well at night. Determine a percentage that will go to the savings account every month. Maybe you don’t know for what purpose you are doing it now, but some day you’ll be thankful you did.
Do not go shopping in the days of rage, it’s like go to the supermarket with hungry. Leave home with a route on your head: I want to buy this, this and that. Try to remain on schedule and only buy more then this with two conditions:

a- it fits on your budget,
b- if you’re sure you don’t have anything alike in your closet.

Try to buy only when you've used what you have. For example, buy books only if you have read all you bought before, buy chocolate only if it has no more at home.
Those purchases for a new hobby, like paint, sewing machine, guitar, tennis racket... Well, buy them when you are sure it will become a current activity in your life.
Never use overdraft limits or more of your credit card than you can afford. Interests are not worthwhile, anyway.

Always remember that your purchases should make you happy and not make you feel worried about your bills.

So, I'm doing a photography course! This is something I always wanted to do since I got my reflex and because of my journalism course, I felt in love with it!

I took some pictures this weekend and I felt devastated with the result. It just wasn’t what I thought it’d be. But I’m trying to convince myself I should not be so rude with me ‘cause is my first class and I was in pain that day.

Gyaru

Recently, I've seen in some corners of Internet blogs and articles about Gyaru style . I found some devotees in Brazil and I was quite impressed with the way they assemble the outfits. It's something too "girly" a doll style influence!

Despite being a big thing for me , this idea of dressing so childish emerged in Japan in the 70s and has changed from then to now. At first, concerned teenagers and young adults who had no interest in marriage or work, taking on a childlike figure.

Over time, this concept has been in decline, terminologies were also changing and Gyaru , which means nothing more, nothing less, that girl, became an important part of the Japanese clothing and accessories commerce.

The girls who engage in Gyaru usually organize Gal Circles, which are meetings to talk about fashion, promote the style of dressing girly, music and a kind of dance called ParaPara (a style of dance choreographed and synchronized, also originated in Japan).

I don't know if it's a style that fits all ages. I think is more common in adolescents, but the specialty sites claim it can be used at any time and by anyone. So, if you like the idea, you can adapt the outfit!

To become a Gyaru, you can not forget the Circle Lens!

Sometimes, we do so many different things during the week, we forget of being happy. I’m working 10 hours per day and doing an MBA courser, so I’m always busy to do what I really like: be with my family, friends, blog, photography… So, I realize the weekend is here and we can use it to do the things we usually don’t have time.

If you can…

1- Offer a good breakfast for someone you love;

2- Give him or her a big kiss;

3- Dance in your room, sing together with the radio;

4- Take care of you a little bit. Take a long shower (or bath, if you like), use your best beauty products;

5- Eat a good food

6- and smile big!!!

Hi sweeties!

I’m here to tell you everything is fine and I’m getting back to my normal routine. The husband recovery is great so far and I think he will be able to be completely independent in 15 days!

Today is a busy day in the office. We're been through very challenging days and some people here are very tired. I thought one of the good things you can do to relax is to play with pets, but most of my colleagues live in apartments where cats and dogs are not allowed.

Then I had this idea: what about little fishes? Can they be a good company?

I don't know... I never had one, but everybody should have a pet at home!
